by Cadbury and King. The Institute therefore will be responsible

and possible certification to participating directors,
especially those who are members of the institute,

status of governance in all sectors in the country including the
Government.
c.) Providing a resource
pool of capable and trained potential directors where the
corporate and business sectors can tap from to strengthen their
boards of directors
d.) It will seek to have
interventionist legislative powers and be able to enforce the
principles set in the code of best practice. Therefore the code
will be designed and implemented in such as manner that it has
the backing and full support and commitment of both government,
private sector and the civil society.
e.) The institute will
liaise with other international associations of fellow IODs to
ensure that it at all times it remains up to date with latest
and working best practices. It will in particular seek to work
closely with similar set-ups in all SADAC countries.
It is therefore expected that the long
term and significant benefits to the nation or the world at
large will include due recognition of best practice in running
companies
